1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is straight. Like..after I use straighteners it looks the same way as before :P
2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I do it myself. I think I only went to the salon to do it twice or three times in my life.
3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
There are no big differences from day to day. Maybe I'd sweep my fringe to the other side..or i keep it in a pony tail when I don't love it too much.. and for a night out I might curl it.
4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I've never had a pedicure done at a salon, I'm scared of that (I don't know exactly why :P) and I've only done my manicure at a salon maybe three times for different special occasions when I wanted a perfect classic french manicure which I can't do by myself.
5. How often do you change your nail polish?
Once or twice a week. I guess it depends on the staying power of the polish :P
6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
Actually this winter I went for the natural look :P no polish on my toes. But I used to do it before.. Well spring is almost here and I just got some new nail polishes so they'll be painted soon :P
7. How long does it take for you to put on make-up?
It depends on the occasion. If it's morning and I have to get out of the house fast it might take about 10-15 minutes. But if I'm going on a date or a night out with friends it's going to take at least 30 min...I wanna do it right! :))
8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Face. I'll just clean up afterwards if I mess up :P
9. Do you collect make-up or just buy what you need when you need it?
Only recently have I started to splurge on make-up products that I wouldn't normally go for, but hey, I gotta try on new stuff and write reviews for my readers... :P Anyway, It doesn't get out of hand...
10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I only wore false eyelashes twice, but I'm trying to learn more about how to apply them and make them work..
11. Do you do a full face of make-up everyday?
If I start doing my make-up, damn right I'm gonna do the whole deal (but I don't wear make-up every single day).
12. Do you wear make-up when you're home alone or with family?
Nope. Only if I really want to try some new product and can't wait for an actual occasion.. :P
13. Will you leave the house without make-up?
Yes, sometimes. I don't put on make-up to go to the supermarket.
14. How many high end products do you have?
Not that much really, I have some Dior stuff etc, but I'm mainly still on the search of good high street products. And believe it or not, I don't have any MAC products! yeaah, I know, it sounds like I'm living in a cave or something :)) I've heard they are full of chemicals and I didn't want to use them but I don't think I can resist the temptation much longer. I want those pretty lipstick colours! :))
15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
I like to know what I'm going to wear the next day so that it doesn't take me too long to decide in the morning and be late for something. For a big event like a wedding or a New Year's Eve party etc, I like to figure it out with a few weeks before so if I need some accessories, a new handbag / shoes, I'll have time to get them.
16. How often do you change your handbag?
I like to match my handbag with my outfit.. so I change it quite often. For this spring I want to get a colourful satchel or a crossbody bag because my bags are all black, grey, brown or khaki.
17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
I am a night owl. I am most productive at night, so I like to go to sleep quite late and get up late as well :P Everybody says that it's not good for me but I can't change this..
18. How often or when do you workout?
I am trying to do it more organized and with a schedule because now I don't really have one. I want to go to a yoga class but I don't know if I'm ready yet..
19. Left handed or right handed?
Right handed. But when I was younger I could use them both very good. At school I used to write better on the blackboard with my left hand.
20. How tall are you?
1,73 m. Or 5'8" i think.
21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
Well English is a foreign language to me, as I am Romanian. I also speak French, and I studied German for 2 years but I almost forgot everything :P Oh, and I studied 5 years of Latin and I could translate old poems and stuff!
22. How many pets do you have?
I have a cat, Mao <3
23. How often are you on Blogger?
Pretty much every day.
24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Sometimes. But I read all the comments on my blog :)
25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Actually, I do. It's quite long now :))
26. How did you come up with your blog name?
The two things I love the most - cats and travelling :P and that could also be the name of one of my tattoos..with a cat on a Paris background.. :P
27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use a Canon S5 IS (and my Samsung Galaxy S3's camera for Instagram shots :P)
28. How often do you clean your house?
I like to put stuff in order everyday. But like clean clean..maybe once a week.
29. What's your favourite colour?
When I was younger it was blue. After that it was green. Now I think it's mint green.
30. Do you swear?
I used to swear more.. now..not so much :P
31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Probably spending my time on bloglovin / facebook / instagram and cooking something :)
Before I left to Paris I did some shopping and I forgot to show you what I got :P I always love to see these posts or youtube videos about Primark hauls to see what I could find there before I go shopping ^^ I am usually pretty lucky to find some nice stuff in the shop and I can put together some outfits without breaking the bank. Here are my picks :) Excuse the headless shots, but let's say I was having a bad day :)) I couldn't show my face on the Internet like that :))
So in the first 4 pictures everything is from Primark (including the Super Cozy tights!-they're so soooft). Every item was about 5 pounds (!), except for the pink shirt which I bought like a year ago and just put it on for that picture :P In the 5th picture the pants are from Asos and you can find those here (sorry for the bad picture). I fell in love from the first time I saw them and I stalked them for about a month before I could get my hands on them. The red coat is this one and I got it because I just really wanted a new coat, and I didn't want to get one like everybody else, I don't think I look good in a boyfriend coat or whatever people wear these days :P so I chose this.. and they also have it in black or navy blue but I already have a black coat and I wanted to get out of the..monotony :P
That's is about it, I hope to resist the temptation of going to Primark again anytime soon because I already have too much clothes... Oh, I forgot to show you the pyjama that I got, it's so sweet.. I love their pyjamas <3
If you have posts like these please leave your links below because I love to see what other people find in Primark and other similar shops :P
A few weeks ago I had the surprise to be nominated for a Liebster award by the lovely Ekta and I promised I would continue this chain so here am I. If you don't know what a Liebster Award is, I'd say that it's given to new bloggers, who have less than 200 followers as an encouragement to keep writing and for them to find new friends who share their passion.
The rules are as following:
1. You must link back to the person that nominated you;
2. You must answer the 11 questions given by the nominee before you;
3. You must pick 11 nominees with under 200 followers to answer your questions;
4. You can't nominate the person who nominated you;
5. You must tell the nominees that they have been nominated by you.
These are my answers to the questions I was given by Ekta:
1. Who or what inspired you to write and share a part of your world online?
As I wrote in the first posts on my blog, I just moved to England, leaving all my friends back home in Romania so I wanted to start writing so I would have something to do here, alone, and as a chance to make new friends :P I was into beauty stuff since I was like 13 yo so I found it only natural to write about this.
2. You have time/patience for 1 make-up product. You grab...?
I think I'm gonna say mascara. You can do the pinching of the cheeks thing and biting your lips to get a flush of colour if you need that, but nothing replaces mascara :))
3. Favorite genre of books?
Adventure / fiction / crime.. I like all kinds of books, can't decide on one genre..
4. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Introvert, definitely :P but I'm trying to overcome my shyness.
5. Favorite book or book series?
The last book I read was "Eat, Pray, Love" and I loved it, but my all time favourite is the Harry Potter series :))
6. How much water do you drink everyday? Honestly.
I drink about 2-3 glasses of water a day. It's bad, I know. But I'm not thirsty! :">
7. Best gift you ever gave...
I can't say! I think it's the one I want to give to my boyfriend for his birthday this month but I don't want him to read this and ruin the surprise so..I might edit this later :P
8. What or who makes you instantly happy?
My cat! :) she's the best in the whole wide world :P
9. Current style icon?
Wow, I honestly don't know what to say, I don't think I really have one, I guess I don't dress according to trends or other peoples' tastes, I wear what I like and what makes me feel good with myself.
10. On a scale from "Alergic" to "Rehab", how much do you love Nutella?
It's closer to "rehab" :P I love it on pancakes.
11. What is the meaning of life?
I think it's a gift, a chance to find pure happiness and love and you should take advantage of it at its fullest because it's probably too short. I don't know! ^^
I want to nominate these bloggers for the Liebster Award:
And these are my questions for you:
1. If you could choose, where would you want to live?
2. What is your favourite food?
3. Do you have a pet?
4. What do you do for fun on a Saturday evening?
5. What is your favourite make-up product ever?
6. Where did you travel last time?
7. Skirt or pants? Heels or flats?
8. What's your favourite band/music artist?
9. What would your dream job be?
10. If you won the lottery what would you do with the money?
11. Do you have any bad beauty habits?
I'm looking forward to seeing your answers and nominees :)
I'm back from Paris!! :D And of course I couldn't go there without visiting the big City-Pharma from Rue du Four.. they have so many good products for skincare and pretty much all you could wish for from Nuxe, Caudalie, La Roche-Possay, Vichy, Klorane, etc. You can find great offers there, too. I think that this is the place where everybody comes to buy Bioderma :)) But let me show you what I got.
I don't use Crealine from Bioderma (the pink one) because it doesn't work for me anymore and I replaced it with the Sebium one which has a better smell, too. I have a big bottle and now I just got this in the travel size because I really needed one to take with me when I fly. I use it everyday and my skin gets on really well with it.
Another thing I got from Bioderma was this Atoderm mini Repair hand cream which is really nice and I love the fact that it doesn't have a powerful smell. It sinks in the skin immediately and my hands feel smooth for a few good hours. For my nails I got the Mavala nail polish remover which is really good and takes your polish off in a few seconds (and it's only 3 euros). They also have a "sensitive" version which is pink and costs about 6 euros, but this blue one works for me just fine. (I also love the Mavala nail polishes, they have a lot of lovely colours).
I also wanted to try something new and I was looking for something like an eye cream. But I got this instead - Melvita Avocado oil for the eye contour. It has 100% natural organic ingredients and seemed like a good choice. I tried it for a few days and I can say that it really leaves the skin smooth. You use literally only a drop for your eyes and I think it will last a lot :P This was about 9 euros and I'm very satisfied with it. One of the last things that I bought was the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre which moisturizes and nourishes the skin. On the box it says that it can also be used to cleanse the skin or remove make-up, as a repairing mask, an after-shave cream, or as a baby-care product. I got the small tube because I needed it for traveling but they also had an offer for the big tubes, they were cheap if you got two of them, I can't remember the exact price. I really recommend you to try this cream, my dry skin this winter loves it!
The last things I got were Sensodyne toothpaste (it was a lot cheaper than in the UK) and the Humer Sea Water because sometimes I can't breathe properly :P (you can see this in the first picture). I always get overwhelmed in this Pharmacy and it's so busy that I can't stay and look at all the products like I would want to, I think it's best if you have a list of what you want and go for those products (you can ask the nice ladies there to help you anyway). You should go there early in the morning and definitely not on a Saturday if you want to get out alive! :))
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you go to Paris you will visit this Pharmacy, I know I will visit it again to stock up on Bioderma and Embryolisse :P
I've had Sally Hansen Sugar Coat in Cherry Drop for 3 days now on my nails and it still looks perfect. I love this bright red colour and I am surprised about how much i like the texture, too! I am thinking this would be a nice choice for Valentine's Day (my boyfriend likes the texture of this polish, too :P)! I only applied two coats here. From this collection I'd also try Sugar Fix (white) and Razzleberry (blue) but the other colours don't appeal to me. I think I've seen these in Boots and they're about £7. I haven't tried the Barry M Textured nail polishes yet but I really want to because I like the colours more and I will let you know what I think about those, too, very soon!
Who likes textured nail polish?! :D
Look what I got!
This was an unexpected surprise! I won all these in an Instagram competition from Superdrug and I couldn't be happier. I was really curious about the new Mega Volume Miss Manga mascara and I'm glad that now I can review it for you!
This is what the brush looks like, I think it's really nice, it grabbes all the lashes and covers them in a thick coat of mascara. I don't need more than one coat and I think if you like to wear more that one coat this mascara might make your lashes clump together. It's really black and my lashes look separated and long. I wouldn't say that it's really a manga effect, but my eyes look nice. I don't know what's up with the wand tough, it can rotate 360 degrees but I don't know why you could need that, it doesn't really do anything while you're applying the mascara. Overall I am satisfied with it, it doesn't smudge or flake or anything during the day. I even fell asleep on my couch yesterday afternoon wearing it and it was intact when I woke up! :P Here are some photos of my left eye - without mascara and the right eye - with mascara and Superliner Perfect Slim.
The SuperLiner Perfect Slim is very nice, easy to use, made for a precise application (but you must have a steady hand!) and very black, you don't have to draw the line over and over again. It stays put for maaany hours but you can also take it off easily with any make-up remover. I would definitely repurchase this one!
The SuperLiner blackbuster scares me a little bit because I don't usually do a very thick wing or anything, but I want to try and learn how to do that and..who knows, maybe I could pull it off ^^
You can find the Miss Manga Mascara at Superdrug for 8.99 pounds, the Superliner Perfect Slim and Blackbuster for 6.99 each.
What do you think? Did you get into the whole Miss Manga madness? :P
Hi guys! I'm back from my trip to Bucharest and I wanted to share some photos with you so you can see what's going on in my home town. It was the first snow of the year and approx. -10 degrees Celsius...and I took short dresses with me :)) There is so much snow right now, in these photos it was only after the first day. I wanted to make a parallel with Norwich, with about 7 degrees Celsius today and colourful views :)
Luckily I didn't have much to do in Bucharest and I could stay in and enjoy some cuddles with my beloved Mao. Unfortunately she still has to wait a little bit until she can come to live with me in England, until all the paperwork, microchipping and vaccines are done :( but I am happy that I can go and visit her until then.
So this was my week at my two homes :P Now I will go back to writing some beauty posts this week, and next week I'm leaving to Paris - looking forward to that anytime! :P
